Wandalor

Your town, your adventure!

A location-based fantasy adventure — in your own town.

The map is your town — its castles, churches, parks, forests and squares are real, and behind every one of them waits a trial. Go there, win it, and the place is yours.

The game map by day and at night: the streets of Budapest, place markers all around, the player in the middle.

The map

Your town is the playing field

The game follows your real position on a three-dimensional, fantasy-style map. The streets, squares and rivers are real, and so are the time of day and the weather: dusk, moonlight, rain, snow, fog.

A place card: cover image, the short story of the place, and the trials button below.

The places

Every place has a story

Churches, castles, parks, forests, lookouts, museums — each has its own card and its own story. Anything within fifty metres pulses on the map: a trial awaits you there.

The card also shows who holds the land right now, and what it takes to make it yours.

The trials

Three trials guard every place

A quiz, a clash and a riddle: win one of each, and the place is yours.

Quiz: a countdown, the question and three answers.
Quiz Three questions, one minute. The questions suit the place: faith at the church, nature in the forest, the past at the museum.
Clash: a three-dimensional enemy facing the player, with the strike, guard, dodge and focus buttons below.
Clash Three-dimensional foes and a reaction game: strike, guard, dodge, focus. Hit the button that lights up before they hit you.
Riddle: equations made of symbols, with a number pad below.
Trial of Wits Every symbol hides a number. Work out the question mark from the equations — you have two minutes.

Quests

Take on quests!

Notices are posted at popular places, with new quests every day: a chase, target practice, a dice duel or a game of Makaó. Claim a place, go on a walking tour or open a treasure chest — it's all up to you.

Five screens, one behind the other: a notice with the day's quests, a chase down an alley, target practice, a dice duel at a tavern table and a game of Makaó at a green baize table.
On a walk: a red route through the streets, numbered stops and a chequered flag at the finish.

Walking tours

Go on a walk through your own streets

Take on a walking tour from a notice, and a boot appears on the nearest street corner. Pick a distance that suits you. Every stop along the way pays out gold, and at the finish, by the chequered flag, there's a bonus and a gift.

Adventures

Descend into the depths, or stay under the open sky

Beneath churches, castles and cemeteries lies a labyrinth: light a torch and reach the treasure chest before it burns out. At the lakes you can fish: wait for the bite, then tire the fish out. In the forest you fell a tree with your axe, in the wheat fields you harvest with a scythe — strike and swing in rhythm! Sell your haul for gold coins at the Marketplace.

Four screens one behind the other: a torch-lit crypt beneath a church, fishing at a lake, woodcutting in a clearing and the harvest in a wheat field.
A treasure chest card: a painted chest under a golden moon, a short tale, and the Open the chest button below.

Treasure chests

Treasure awaits

Treasure chests turn up at statues and monuments — everyone finds their own, and in new places every day. Stand beside one and open it: up to a hundred gold coins may be inside.

Healing: a glowing heartbeat line on a dark screen, with the health bar filling up below.

Healing

Rest with the healers

Wounded in a fight? You can heal at hospitals and pharmacies: a heartbeat runs across the screen while your health fills up — and on your phone you can feel it, beating softly.

Claim it, defend it

What you win is yours — until someone takes it. Defend it with mercenaries, and the chronicle records who held it and when.

Gather and trade

Finds await at the magnifier spots. Sell them for gold coins at the Marketplace — the prices change every day.

Reach far

You don't have to walk everywhere: for elixir you can take on the trials of a distant place.

The eagle's eye

For an hour it shows you the nearest unclaimed places — so you know where to head.

The source of elixir

At wells, the well spirit fills your flask with a gift of elixir — once a day at every well.

Sunday blessing

On Sundays between 8 and 12, churches bless you with 30 gold coins — once every Sunday.
