Terms of use

1. The service

Wandalor is a location-based game: the map is your real surroundings, and the locations (churches, parks, castles, squares…) are real places. At the locations you can complete trials, claim them, and take on quests. The game is available in the browser (game.wandalor.com) and in the mobile app.

The service is provided by Vass Felicián e.v. (4400 Nyíregyháza, Kalászos u. 2.; hereinafter: the operator). The game is free; at present nothing in it can be bought with real money.

By using the game and creating an account you accept these terms. How your data is handled is described in the Privacy policy.

2. The account

• Registration requires a valid e-mail address and a password. The account is personal: do not hand it over to anyone else, and keep your password secret.
• An account is active on one device at a time; signing in on a new device signs out the old one.
• You can close your account at any time in the Settings; your data is then deleted as described in the Privacy policy.

3. Age limit

From the age of 14 you can register yourself. Under 14, registration needs the consent of your parent or legal guardian — ideally, create the account together.

4. Safety in the real world

The game takes place on real streets, so:

• While walking, watch your surroundings and the traffic. Never look at your phone while crossing the road.
• Do not enter private property, closed-off, dangerous or forbidden places for the sake of a location. A location appearing on the map does not mean you may enter it or that it is open.
• Do not play while driving or cycling.
• Follow local rules and traffic regulations, and respect the order of the places (churches, cemeteries, memorials).

The locations come from open map data (OpenStreetMap); the operator does not check whether a place is actually accessible or safe.

5. Player name and conduct

• Your player name is visible to other players on the map and in the leaderboard. It must not be offensive, hateful or misleading, and must not impersonate anyone. For children, a nickname is especially recommended.
• Cheating is forbidden, in particular: faking your location (GPS spoofing), automating the game (bots, scripts), deliberately exploiting bugs, disrupting the game or the server, and using other players' accounts.
• If you find a bug, please report it (info@wandalor.com) instead of exploiting it.

6. Bans and other measures

If these terms are violated, the operator may ban the account without warning, revoke results obtained by cheating (places, gold, experience, rank), or reset the game state. Suspicious activity is flagged by the system; the decision is always made by a person.

If you think you were banned by mistake, write to us (info@wandalor.com) — we will look into it.

7. In-game content

• Gold, elixir, items, places and ranks are part of the game: they have no monetary value, cannot be redeemed or transferred, and cannot be sold outside the game.
• The rules, balance and content of the game may change (new place types, rewards, prices) as the game evolves.
• In case of a bug or cheating, the affected in-game result may be restored or revoked.

8. Availability of the service

The operator strives to keep the game available, but does not guarantee error-free and uninterrupted operation (maintenance, outages of the map, weather and hosting providers). Parts of the game may change, and the service may also end; we will announce this in advance, in the game or on the home page.

9. Intellectual property

The game's code, graphics, texts and sounds belong to the operator or its licensors; using the game gives no right to copy or distribute them. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL); the weather comes from the Open-Meteo service. The list of sources used is in the game menu (Credits).

10. Liability

Everyone uses the game in the real world at their own risk. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for accidents, damage, trespassing or rule violations during play resulting from disregarding section 4, nor for damage resulting from the loss of in-game data.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version is available at this address, with its effective date at the top of the page. For significant changes, the game asks you to accept the new version when you sign in; if you do not accept it, you can close your account.

12. Governing law, contact

These terms are governed by Hungarian law. Questions, complaints or bug reports: info@wandalor.com. In a consumer dispute you may also turn to the conciliation body of your place of residence. If the language versions differ, the Hungarian version prevails.
